It should be a boost to the team to get Simmonds back. Hopefully tonight the Flyers get the W and do it within the 60 minutes. Need a win tonight. |

The return of Simmonds should give the team an emotional boost and I really like the lines. On D though, I really think it's time to at least consider splitting Provy and Ghost at least some of the time to try and get 2 pairs going. I would try an ES rotation that would reduce the ice time for the guys who, IMO, have struggled the most.
I'd try something like:
Provy-Ghost
AMac-Hagg
Provy-Gudas
Manning-Ghost
Provy-Gudas
AMac-Hagg
Manning-Ghost
Provy-Gudas
AMac-Hagg
Provy-Ghost
and so on....
If they were able to roll with this for the first 10 ES shifts, you would get:
Provorov 5 shifts
Ghost 4 shifts
Gudas 3 shifts
AMac 3 shifts
Hagg 3 shifts
Manning 2 shifts
I'd leave the pp alone and on the PK, assuming none of the following are in the box
I'd go:
Provorov-Gudas for the first 1:15-1:30
AMac-Hagg for the last 30-45 seconds
This would have Provy probably playing near 25 mins and Ghost 21-22, while AMac and Gudas would be at 17-18 each, Hagg maybe 15-16 and Manning playing 8-9
I think that would give them the best chance to win.

I do think getting Simmonds back give the lines better balance, do they match up aganst Pitt? The would need the Patrick line to play up and Flip flip would have to shut down Brassard. Pens s have much better secondary scoring
The D, ironically the Flyers are just soft in this area, a year early it appears to match better against pens/caps etc |

I like the lines here for Philly. The Pens D looks exploitable. Hopefully Simmer comes in ready, the first line comes up big as they have been all year, and the rooks come in pumped but measured, and productive and Mrazek is on. This might be the biggest game of the season. Lets go Flyers!

Watching pens vs Calgary they play a wide open game, not sure the flyers have the fire power to do that, not like we can expect the D to shut them down |

Classic Flyers would be to find a way to beat both the Pens and Bruins, but then go on and lose to the Jets and Vegas.

Honesty if they can get through Monday with some considerable distance from the teams fighting for a wild card, I'll take it. |

I'd be OK with that. If that's how it works out and the Flyers beat the Pens and Bruins but lose to Winnipeg and Vegas, there's still a chance of getting outside help from Toronto on Sat. and/or Dallas on Monday in their games against the Penguins and the Kings (in LA tomorrow), Sharks (in San Jose on Saturday) and/or Jets (in Washington on Monday) in their games against the Capitals.

Great points, pretty much no easy games for any of the playoffs contenders

It's just a brutal part of the schedule no matter how you look at it:
tonight the Pens
tomorrow the Bruins
Saturday, 3rd in 4 nights vs a very good Jets team
Monday vs Vegas another good, speedy team
then finally a couple days off before going up against what will be a desperate for points Columbus team which starts off another 3 games in 4 nights sequence which includes at Carolina followed by the Caps at home the next night. Sheesh!!
Honestly, if they can get through that stretch no worse than 3-3-1 they should count themselves fortunate.
